Help for Parents
Relate Plymouth and South Devon host workshops to help parents who are separating understand the effect the process of divorce will have on their children.
Maybe you’ve lost sight of your children due to conflicts brought on by the split or you’re not sure how to communicate the reasons behind your divorce – whatever the issue, we’ll work through it with you.
The workshop will include the following information:
- The Separation and Divorce Process – Looks at the divorce process, specifically the emotional, legal and financial implications
- What Children Need – Considering how children experience and respond to separation, helping them adjust to changes and identifying and understanding children’s needs
- Parent Communication – How to manage difficult conversations, helping children adjust to different households and gaining a different perspective on disagreements
- Emotions – Working through the stages of loss, understanding how feelings may affect behaviour and helping you moving forward
