COMMON PROBLEMS

People come to Relate for help with all sorts of relationship problems. Counselling offers no magic solutions. It can only work if you are willing to be honest about yourself and your relationship and if you commit to the counselling process. Given this, it is very likely that we can significantly help you. Our counsellors are trained and have the experience to work with the following range of statements and questions that they regularly hear:

  • we don’t talk any more
  • it’s all over
  • I feel numb - my feelings have gone
  • we cannot come to terms with the violence in our relationship
  • he/she doesn’t listen
  • I cannot cope with the affair that my partner’s recently had
  • are we right for each other?
  • can I trust him/her again?
  • what has happened to our sex life?
  • we don’t have anything in common any more
  • should we separate?
  • how can I be so lonely when I am in a relationship?
  • he/she doesn’t want sex any more
  • we seem to have physical problems in performing sex
  • we argue all the time
  • he/she seems to want to control everything I do
  • I am single - can you help me to be more successful with future    relationships?
  • can you help us to separate on better terms?
